By the same merit, homes with one single bathroom can be a turn-off to potential buyers or investors. Many modern homes have at least two bathrooms (guest and master).
- No air conditioning – The lack of a central air conditioning system is a serious turn-off to buyers. A/C systems are a modern convenience that almost all home buyers require to be part of a home.
- Fuse boxes – An old fashioned feature that has since been replaced with circuit breakers. Buyers want modernized electrics and fuse boxes are not modern, not anymore.
- Basement inaccessible from inside – Basements which have outside-only access are very unattractive to buyers. Many people don’t want to go outside just to access their basement. Laundry rooms located in the basement are also another unattractive feature that could make a house unsellable. Not many people want to haul their laundry all the way down to a dark basement to clean their clothes.
- Standard-sized garage doors – Potential buyers of a new home usually want a place to keep all of their vehicles. A lot of standrad-sized garage doors won’t be able to fit the size of some SUVs and bigger vehicles on the market today. This can keep people from wanting to purchase a property simply because they won’t be able to fit their vehicles in the garage.
